Day 3
Day 3:
The Skydeck is a glass box near the top of the Willis(Sears) tower, It allows you to see the city from a bird's eye view. When we got to the entrance of the tower they said to the general public the wait would be 3+ hours, so we purchased a fast pass online and skipped the line. This combined with the experience at the aquarium the day before, leading us to believe that it always is better to buy tickets online and skip the line. Once up we got into the box pretty quickly and were surprised at how gorgeous the cityscape was.
After the sky deck, we went out for some classic Chicago hot dogs.
This hot dog was unlike hot dogs I have had in the past in that there were a lot more toppings on the hot dog. This dog had Pickles, as well as peppers, onions tomatoes, sweet relish, and mustard. It was quite good and interesting. once we finished with our Hot dogs we took a walk to Millenium Park to see the cloud gate (bean).
The CloudGate is a big mirrored bean shaped pieces of art that reflects the city skyline, it is gorgeous and just a little unnerving to look at. It is one of many pieces of modern art in Millenium Park. After some more in-depth exploration of the park, we walked over to the river and caught an uber back to our house. Where we relaxed until it was time for dinner where we went out to a thia/sushi place that is right across the street from our air bnb.

That looks like a amazingly cool day! The hot dog looks a bit like the ones in Iceland.
ReplyDeleteThe Sky Deck looks awesome! I'm pretty sure that I'd never get Bob up there though! lol I'd love to see the Cloud Gate; I'm showing dogs outside of Chicago in the fall; I may need to make a sidetrip. That hotdog made me a bit hungry! Keep the updates coming!
